The Fiérain family, an illustrious Wavre family, have left a lasting mark on the history of the town and its

urban planning. The building that now houses the Wavre School of Fine Arts was

formerly a hospice founded by Alphonse Fiérain. In its backyard, there was

erected a funerary monument that perpetuates the memory of four members of this family.
